Amazon liable for crash because software “micromanages” delivery drivers, victim says

Amazon is currently defending itself against a lawsuit that could determine whether it is liable for the actions of its contract delivery drivers.

29-year-old software engineer identified as victim in S.F. fatal crash

A 29-year-old woman was identified as the person who died after a hit-and-run crash in San Francisco on Tuesday evening that also sent a man to a hospital with critical injuries, authorities said Wednesday.

Lovisa Svallingson died in the crash, according to the San Francisco medical examiner’s office. The victim, a pedestrian, was pronounced dead at the scene, said Adam Lobsinger, a spokesman for the San Francisco Police Department.

The medical examiner’s office did not provide Svallingson’s city of residence, but according to her social media pages, she lived in Oakland and was a software engineer at Patch, a climate
